Advanced technology for greater surgical precision.
Arthroscopy lets our surgeons see inside a joint through a few small incisions, so the cause of pain can be found and treated without opening the joint. It is used most often in the knee and shoulder, and in selected cases of the elbow, wrist and ankle.
WHAT IT MEANS FOR YOU
Smaller incisions, less disruption
Often day-care surgery, with a faster recovery
What arthroscopy changes
Because the joint is reached through small incisions, healthy tissue is left as undisturbed as possible. That usually means less pain afterwards, a shorter stay, and a quicker return to movement than open surgery.
Arthroscopy also works as a diagnosis. When imaging leaves a question unanswered, the surgeon can look directly at the joint and treat what is found in the same procedure.
