Dr. David V. Rajan

Dr David V. Rajan is an exclusive arthroscopic surgeon. Dr Rajan was one of the earliest surgeons to promote the speciality of arthroscopy in India. Apart from arthroscopic surgery, he is actively involved in the care of sportspersons. He heads the faculty at Ortho-One – orthopaedic speciality centre, Coimbatore, India.

Dr David V. Rajan, MS (Orth), MNAMS (Orth), FRCS (G) graduated from Christian Medical College, Vellore and obtained his masters in orthopaedics from Madras Medical College, Madras. He served as an assistant professor of orthopaedics in Coimbatore Medical College. Since 1983, he has travelled extensively to Germany, France, USA, Sweden and Holland, attending numerous meetings, thereby gaining immense expertise and knowledge in arthroscopic surgery.

He has been President of the Indian Arthroscopy Society, the Shoulder Society of India and Tamil Nadu Orthopaedic Association. He was a former member of the technical and education committee of ISAKOS. He also served as vice president of the Indo-German Orthopaedic Foundation. He has been awarded honorary membership in the Arthroscopy Association of North America.

He serves as an adjunct professor in Dr MGR Medical University Fellowship. He was also an honorary visiting professor at Annamalai University. Dr Rajan is currently involved in teaching and training as a faculty in various conferences and workshops. He runs the fellowship training program in arthroscopy and sports medicine under Dr MGR Medical University and ISAKOS (International Society of Arthroscopy Knee Surgery and Orthopaedic Sports Medicine).

Dr David V Rajan has received many laurels in his career. The latest award he received was the ‘Best Doctor – Tamil Nadu Medical Council Award 2014’. This award was received from His Excellency, Dr Rosaiah, governor of Tamil Nadu, in August 2014. He also received ‘Life Time Achievement Award’ from the Indian Medical Association and Orthopaedic Society of Coimbatore in July 2014.
