Dr. Clement Joseph, M.S. Orth.

Dr. Clement Joseph is a consultant orthopaedic surgeon specializing in Arthroscopy, Knee and Shoulder Surgery & Sports Injuries.

After post graduation in orthopaedic surgery at Chennai, he trained under
Dr. David V Rajan and has been associated with Ortho One as a consultant. The surgical principles and treatment philosophy of Dr. Rajan continues to guide his clinical practice. Dr. Clement has also trained and associated with eminent surgeons like, Dr.S.G. Krishnan, Dr. Peter Lutz, Dr. Alvin Jaeger,
Dr. Timo Jarvela, Dr. Denny Lie, Dr. Peter Campbell & Dr. Jaap Willems. He is the recipient of the Zimmer fellowship in Knee Surgery and Arthroplasty offered by the AE foundation and underwent training in Germany. He is also the recipient of ESSKA (European Society of Sports Traumatology, Knee Surgery & Arthroscopy) Smith & Nephew overseas fellowship in 2009 and underwent training in Finland. He also spent a stint at Singapore General hospital's Sports Injury and Arthroscopy Service.

Dr. Clement received the best paper award for the study of shoulder problems in volleyball players. He has also published scientific papers in the field of arthroscopy, biomechanics & sports injuries and has served as a faculty in many arthroscopy workshops & conferences.

Apart from clinical practice, he is actively involved in the care of sports injuries during major tournaments, including education of sportspersons.
Dr. Clement involves himself in outreach programs like First Aid & Safety teaching programs in schools & colleges (with Dr.Sekar Michael) and RSI (repetitive stress injury) prevention seminars. His fields of interest are knee and shoulder problems in sports persons, knee ligament reconstructions, shoulder arthroscopy and reconstruction. He is actively involved in the development of innovative surgical techniques like Double bundle reconstruction for ACL injuries and MPFL reconstruction for knee cap (Patella) dislocations & evolving treatment protocol for adhesive capsulitis ( frozen shoulder).
